Queensland’s First EndCCP Caravan
On Sunday, November 29th, 2020, Queensland Falun Gong practitioners gathered in Brisbane, in preparation for Queensland’s first EndCCP caravan. This follows similar caravans held across parts of Melbourne weeks prior.
Besides promoting Falun Gong, they called upon Australians to reject and boycott the CCP (Chinese Communist Party). Signs on the cars included, “CCP Lied, Australians Died” and “Communism, puts everyone at risk.” This is in reference to the 2019 novel coronavirus and the CCP’s suppression of information regarding it.
The event involved 58 volunteers: including drivers, navigators and camera crew. The caravan, which departed at 10AM, consisted of 25 motor vehicles and involved an overall trip distance of approximately 65 kilometers (or 40 miles), completed over the course of about 2 hours.
Originating from Sunnybank Hills, the caravan passed through the Brisbane CBD (Central Business District) and Chinatown via the Chinese Consulate on Adelaide Street.
According to Adam Xu, the organizer of the event, he was “inspired by the Tuidang (quit the CCP) movement across the United States and part of Canada” and “hoped to raise awareness regarding the Chinese Communist Party’s mismanagement of the coronavirus.” “I wish to awaken the compassionate Australian public to the ‘devil CCP’ and to bring a desirable future to all of mankind,” he continued.
Vlad Stefanovic, an attendee at the event, stated in an interview that the event resonated with him since “for some people who already knew it, it might reinforce the message for them, so that they know there are other people thinking about it,” referring to his desire to bring to the Australian public’s attention, information regarding the CCP’s actions. “I appreciated the opportunity to be a part of it,” Vlad said.
This caravan was arranged as a part of the Global Service Center for Quitting the Chinese Communist Party’s worldwide EndCCP petition initiative. At time of writing, this petition has been signed more than 275,000 times.
